Music Video where VDMX served as a communication hub between a DAW (Ableton Live), a video synthesizer (Lumen) and a video mixer (Roland Edirol V4).
The video was recorded in one take without any cutting in post.
Simple geometric mappings of Visuals in clubs and on festival stages. Mixing multiple video layers with additional VFX.
Generative video synthesizer that uses a custon quartz composer composition. VDMX can control the parameters of the QC composition and use LFOs, Step Sequencers and MIDI inputs to control the look of the generated video frames.
Self comissioned video for Four Tet's "LA Trance". Custom speed ramps control the playback speed of found footage. Sequencing was done in Ableton Live, playback through VDMX and VFX with circuit bent video hardware.
An installation of 9 CRT TVs for Havana Club at a launch event. The TVs were piled into a cage and displayed four different video streams, showing brand assets and short videoclips.
The video signal for the video wall controller was composited in VDMX with a step sequencer triggering random brand assets to the composition.
VDMX was used to prototype in the early stages of my semester project in 19/20. Being able to create time-based video animations which were mapped to a LED strip helped a lot in trying to figure out the direction of the project.
